Prof. Marcin Rucinski was born in 1978 in Golub-Dobrzyn (Poland). In 1997-2002 he graduated from the Faculty of Biology at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan with a Master's degree in Biotechnology. Since 2002 he has been an employee of the Department of History and Embryology of the UMP, where from 2018 he has been employed as a professor.
2002-2003 – Poznan University of Technology, Faculty of Computing Science and Management, post-graduate studies in database management.
24.04.2008 – Poznan University of Medical Sciences, Dept. Histology & Embryology «Cerebellin in the rat adrenal: gene expression and an attempt at elucidation of cerebellin action on cortex of the gland»; PhD degree. Supervisor: prof. Ludwik Malendowicz, MSc., Ph.D.
2010-2011 – University of Silesia in Katowice, post-graduate studies in bioinformatics.
2012-2013 – Higher School of Banking in Poznan, post-graduate studies – «Manager of research and development project».
03.06.2013 – Poznan University of Medical Sciences, II Faculty of Medicine, degree of habilitation in medical sciences, based on the scientific achievements titled: "The role of ghrelin and adiponectin in the regulation of adrenocortical function in the rat".
Professor Rucinski is a globally recognized scientist in the field of experimental endocrinology. His scientific activity brings important substantive values that serve to increase knowledge, especially in physiology and adrenal endocrinology, with a cognitive aspect and direct translation into medical science. The results of his scientific research are original and published in high-ranking journals with Impact Factor. His publications are often cited by other authors and set as a new research paths. The significant value of his research is proved by the high values of his bibliometric indexes (H index = 22, total number of citations =1238, total number of publications with IF - 85, total Impact Factor value - 202).
Prof. Marcin Rucinski is very active in developing methodological workshop, gaining funds for research, educating young staff and organizational activity. Since 2017, she has been a member of the Evaluation Team for Medical Sciences within the Evaluation Committee of Scientific Units at the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education. He is a member of the Management Board of the Foundation for Cell Biology and Molecular Biology. He is a thematic editor in Advances in Clinical and Experimental Medicine journal (IF=1.2).
Since 2014, he has been a reviewer of grant applications from the National Science Centre in Poland. At his home university, he acts as an internal reviewer of applications submitted to the National Science Center, pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of the applications sent and proposing solutions aimed at increasing the attractiveness of the sent grants. He is the head of four large research projects and takes care of three projects of young researchers. He knows and understands issues related to the functioning of scientific institutions.
