Department of Otorhinolaryngology
In 1935, an outpatient admission of patients with diseases of the ENT organs, at the same time, was started by the radiologist Mikhail Nikolayevich Voskresensky, who graduated from the Military Medical Academy in 1919 and studied with the founders of the national otorhinolaryngology academicians: NP Simanovsky and VI Voyachek. Patients with chronic otitis and atrophic rhinitis prevailed at the reception, often children with foreign bodies of the external ear were received.
In January 1939, a new city polyclinic was opened with well-equipped rooms for receiving patients with doctors of all specialties, including the otorhinolaryngological room, where outpatient ENT care for patients was carried out at the level of medicine at that time. During the Great Patriotic War in the city of Aktobe worked as an otolaryngologist, associate professor B.M. Livshits. Since 1946, the otolaryngologist began to work T.P.Maradudina, and in 1949 a second otorhinolaryngologist appeared - N.E. Kaplan. For the treatment of inpatients were allocated 5 beds in the surgical department of the city hospital. From 1959 to 1961, in the city of Aktyubinsk, otorhinolaryngological ENT patients began to receive ENT doctors: S. B. Shindelovich, B.Z. Rubinchik, F.G. Miralieva, I.P. Mozhenkov, G.F. Lashina.
The department of ENT diseases theAktobe State Medical Institute was organized in february 1961. The organizer and the permanent head of the department for 22 years was the candidate of medical sciences, honored worker of higher school of the Kazakh SSR, associate -professor Nikolai DmitrievichRastopchin. From the first years of the establishment of the department, worked at itS.K. Smagulov (1961), G.F. Lashina (1961), V.P. Grigoriev (1964), A.V. Volkov (1970). Since october 1961 was organized the Aktyubinsk branch of the Scientific Society of Otorhinolaryngologists of the Kazakh SSR, which at the beginning united 17 otorhinolaryngologists, and now there are more than 50 members of the society.
Since 1961 were deployed 2 ENT departments for adults and 1 children’s, each with 40 bed in the Aktyubinsk.
Under the leadership of N.D.Rastopchin at the department were successfully developed the following topical problems of modern otorhinolaryngology: physiology and pathology of the organ of hearing, malignant neoplasms of ENT organs. Conducted original research on the etiology, pathogenesis, clinic of larynx cancer, developed original treatment schemes for this pathology with complex reconstructive operations on the larynx.
Since 1983 the department of ENT diseases headed associate professor V.P. Grigoriev, who in 1983, on the basis of the new methods of functional otosurgery developed by him, defended his doctoral thesis on the topic: "The pathogenetic basis of the surgical and conservative treatment of chronic suppurative otitis media." For the first time in the USSR, professor V.P. Grigoriev developed and introduced into the practice of health care methods of surgery on the middle ear, which made it possible to preserve the anatomical architectonics and functions of the middle ear. For the first time, members of the ENT department under the leadership of V.P. Grigorieva developed and applied methods for the treatment of ENT diseases with a constant electric current of low strength, which is still the research department. Conducted experimental studies have convincingly shown that a constant electric current of small force has a beneficial effect on the nasal mucosa, normalizing its transport, excretory function and microcirculation. Based on the material obtained under the direction of V.R. Grigorieva, assistant of the department V.V. Zheleznova completed and defended her thesis on the topic: "A constant electric current of low strength in the treatment of vasomotor rhinitis." In 2003, the assistant professor B.А. Zhapalakov on the topic: "The use of a constant electric current of small force in the treatment of chronic tonsillitis."
Employees of the department and doctors of the city, members of the Aktyubinsk branch of the scientific society of otorhinolaryngologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan published more than 400 scientific works, including 40 rationalization proposals, 15 inventions.
On the initiative of V.P. Grigoriev in 1986 were merged the city and regional ENT departments into one whole, was created the largest ENT clinic in Kazakhstan with 90 beds, becoming the leading center for providing modern specialized assistance to the population of Western Kazakhstan, a center for training highly qualified otorhinolaryngologists.
Dressings and surgeriesrooms were equipped with all the necessary tools: esophagoscopes, respiratory bronchoscopes, a set of instruments for microoperation in the larynx. Due to this, the clinic was the only one among ENT clinics in Kazakhstan, where operations of this level were carried out. The functional diagnostics room was equipped with an audiometer, an operating microscope, an electronic laryngostroboscope, a set of instruments with fiber optics, etc., which made it possible to diagnose and treat the most complex types of ENT pathology during this period of otorhinolaryngological service at a modern level.
More than 40 otorhinolaryngologists worked in the regional center, in the cities and districts of the region. Of these, 50% of the doctors defended the highest and first category. More than 20 doctors graduated from clinical internship at the Department of ENT Diseases of AkGMI, and work in various parts of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the CIS. On the basis of the clinic repeatedly held Republican and regional conferences of doctors.
Currently, the otorhinolaryngological service of the Atyubinsk region is represented by the staff of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Ophthalmology of the ZKGMU named after Marat Ospanov and the Medical Center of the ZKGMU named after Marat Ospanov. Doctors otorhinolaryngologists of Aktobe Medical Center, City Polyclinics №1, №2, №3, №4, №5, №6, CDC with the Audiological Center, Doctors otorhinolaryngologists of the clinics "Doverie", "Kuanysh", "Senim" , "Aibolit", "Aigerim", "Intertich" and the audiology cabinets.

Conducted original research on the etiology, pathogenesis, laryngeal cancer clinic, developed original treatment schemes for this pathology. Such complex surgical interventions as extirpation of the larynx, resection of the larynx, all types of restoration operations on the larynx were performed. Since 1964, the department has been developing new methods of treating chronic suppurative otitis media, to which Ph.D. assistant V.P.
